Game Brands is proud to announce that we will be attending Gary Con XVII for the first time this March, from the 20th to the 23rd.
GaryCon is a memorial convention for Gary Gygax, founder of both TSR and D&D. Original held shortly after his funeral, Gary Con has become an annual event with over 3,000 attendees.
What is GaryCon?
Created by Luke Gygax, Gary’s son, to memorialize his father, Gary Con is an annual convention designed as a family reunion, not just for the Gygax family but for the entire gaming community family in Lake Geneva, the place where tabletop role playing gaming started in 1970. In Luke’s own words at Gary Con X in 2018,
“…the gaming community made me realize that my dad, Gary Gygax, had a huge impact on many people—something I hadn’t fully comprehended before then and wouldn’t truly appreciate for some time yet… I wanted to celebrate his life and [the] good times we shared… I can speak for my brothers and sisters when I say it is cathartic to host such a wonderful gathering. You all have helped us transform what would normally be a sad time of mourning and dour remembrance into a lively celebration of our father’s life, the strength of our community, and the great new heights that lie before us all.”
