Game Brands Attends a Home Game with PAX East 2025

It’s coming, it’s here, it’s right in our backyard—it’s PAX East 2025!

Given that we’re based out of Boston, it’s no surprise that Game Brands will be attending PAX East 2025 from May 8 to May 11. However, given our focus on tabletop games for the last two cons, you might be surprised to find that, this time around, we’re going to be focusing on video game designers and publishers!

PAX, or Penny Arcade eXpo, is the largest video-game-focused convention in the United States. While PAX Unplugged is a fantastic venue for us, we’re not just marketers for board games—we serve the entire entertainment industry. We’re gamers through and through!

We’re excited to be returning to PAX East for the second year in a row to speak to the newest and greatest faces in gaming.

What is PAX East?

PAX was founded by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, after the runaway success of their webcomic, Penny Arcade, starring their alter egos—the verbose and acerbic Tycho Brahe (Holkins) and the energetic and jovial Jonathan “Gabe” Gabriel (Krahulik). One of the earliest webcomics on the internet, existing even before the term “webcomic” did, Penny Arcade debuted in 1998 and has been running without interruption for nearly two decades.

PAX, or PAX West/PAX Prime, originally began in Seattle in 2004 when Holkins and Krahulik decided they wanted to attend a con exclusively for gaming, and if one didn’t exist, they’d make one. (One did exist—E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo—but they decided it didn’t fit their needs; E3 was industry-focused, and they wanted PAX to be community-focused.) Since its inception as one-day convention with 3,300 attendees, it has expanded to be multiple four-day conventions with a reported 70,000 attendees per con.

In 2010, PAX expanded to the East Coast with PAX East, held in Boston’s Hynes Convention Center, with over 52,000 in attendance. East is now one of four expos, including West, Australia, and Unplugged.

Where to Find Game Brands

Game Brands will be attending the PAX East to attend marketing seminars, network with other marketing teams, and offer our services to clients in the board game industry. We’ll be walking the floor with Game Brands-branded badge holders. If you see us, feel free to say hi! We’d love to help you get started on whatever project you’re launching, or improve your already-existing marketing efforts.

‍We can’t wait to see you there!
